My Philosophy and Passion for Teaching

No professional musicians reached the height of their music career through talent alone.

At the end of the day, it is all about the work and time one puts in and the consistency of crafting one's skills and techniques.

As an educator, I value quality over quantity. In order for every student regardless of experience and background to fully embrace music and fully express themselves through piano, fundamentals and quality of technique is essential. Patience and consistency reap incredible, long-standing rewards. I have seen students who graduated from my studio go off to do amazing things, whether it is starting their own music clubs/ensembles in college, becoming musicians and performing in public as their lifelong hobby, or becoming teachers themselves.

What I want is to leave a long-lasting impact on each student's life. Learning music not only offers new perspectives on life, but it builds and strengthens important qualities such as patience, observation, confidence, consistency, creativity, mental agility, and the list just goes on.

My Background

I am classically trained professional, graduating in 1988. I became a certified Yamaha Piano Instructor starting in 1985 and started my own private studio, Lin Music House, in 2001. I have over 35 years of professional experience teaching beginner to advanced level students of all ages and background experience. I am a certified music teacher, member of the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA).

I am a strong believer that everyone of any age should be able to have a life of music. That's why I became a teacher. Whether you're a just a beginner or an advanced student needing guidance, let's explore music together!

My Classes

I offer both in-person and virtual piano lessons for students of all ages and of all skill levels (beginner, intermediate, and advanced). If you're unsure about which level is appropriate for you, I am happy to consult with you :)
